The Finnish football season is starting in less than one month’s time, and we are pretty darn excited about it. To celebrate, we would like to tap into our readership’s creative energy to succinctly express what Veikkausliiga means to us all. And as the pinnacle of world sporting excellence that it is, Veikkausliiga means a great deal to each and every one of us.
So what we’re going to do is have a poetry competition. To enter you should write a Haiku (or a longer poem if you really want to) about football in Finland.You can find a definition of a haiku at wikipedia, but the essence is that it should have 17 syllables and three or fewer lines. Here is an example:

Entries can be in English, Finnish or Swedish, and can take any form you like. Insult rivals, laud your team, use whatever makes you interested in Veikkausliiga as insipration.
When you’ve written your poem, put it in the comments after this post with a valid email, and you will be in with a chance of winning. You can enter as many times as you like! The five best entries as decided by our panel of expert judges will each win a Veikkausliiga ticket booklet, redeemable at any Veikkausliiga ground in return for three tickets to a Veikkausliiga match. You don’t have to use a real name if you don’t want to, but the email is essential for us to contact you and send on your prize. Closing date is 12 April.

Hi all, I’ll be honest with you all from the start, I’m not a massive fan of the finnish women’s game. But I am really interested in the result of a game that was played on the 28/03/09 and this is the best website I have found to possibly get the result of it. As you may have guessed I have had a bet and I cannot seem to find the result anywhere…. The game was FC Honka Women vs FC United Women….. please can anyone help??? Thank you very much, Mickey

Oh no!!! Well I had 16 results come in out of 17 and this was the last one! But unfortunately I have lost as I bet on FC Honka! Oh well, better luck next time ay!
