NFN continues to be somewhat semi-accurate in match predictions, but we are certainly right on the money when it comes to capturing the -spirit- of this year’s Tippeliga. Almost every game had some neat gameplay happening, or somebody did something incredibly stupid. And that’s just what NFN said would happen! The result of this correctness, not to mention the combined entertainment of nice matches and stupid players, gave us all a sarcastic orgasm, or a sorcasm.

Still high on the schadenfreude endorphins that came from this week’s cup upsets, this NFN writer is graciously feeling that the Tippeliga is right where it belongs. When the players fail to create entertainment on the field, there are plenty of people who will gladly say stupid things to a camera in the hopes that the match will look better in comparison. Although it can sometimes make his job harder, seeing as it can be troublesome writing sarcastic comments about something that is so absurd that it provides its own irony without any help. Absurdity and weak excuses are -my- job, dammit!

Before taking over the prediction part, I was told to maintain NFN’s rather low standards of accuracy, lest I get fired from this gig, and also get a good “high school swirling” going on*. Thankfully, I have proved to be just as incompetent as Lars Sivertsen, so here are your excuses for why I was wrong most of the time:

Round 8: Vivacious Vålerenga violate Odd

Well that was strange. Eight rounds in and the Tippeliga still doesn’t make much sense, but even in that context Vålerenga inflicting a 6-1 smackdown on Odd was a bit of a bolt from the blue. Also, reluctant and grudge-laden credit where it’s due: Brann were really quite good..

Round 5: Kongsvinger Win Game But Lose Manager

Confusion all around in the fifth round as Kongsvinger perplex the masses by winning a game, then their manager resigns the next day to similar effect. Also, Odd Grenland aren’t Real Madrid. It’s all very strange.
Round 4: Much Normality Restored

Rosenborg win in unimpressive style, Brann collapse in spectacularly entertaining fashion, Start are superb value for money for the neutral, Kjetil Rekdal is annoyed even though Aalesund won, the fourth round saw some of what passes for normality in the Tippeliga restored..
The Preview That’s On the Road and Somewhat Distracted

Three rounds into the 2010 Tippeliga and it’s still all a bit random, with pre-season favorites struggling to live up to their billing and plucky underdogs punching way above their weight. The fourth round might bring a bit of clarity, though this is the Tippeliga and clarity tends to be in short supply..

The whole Tippeliga-thing isn’t really working out so far for Hønefoss who were thumped 6-0 at Åråsen. Elsewhere Kongsvinger are also pointless after the first three, pre-season favorites Rosenborg, Molde, Viking and Stabæk all dropped points and there were more peculiar pleasantries from Kjetil Rekdal..

Rosenborg in shabby performance-shocker, but this time they didn’t get away with it. In other news Viking thoroughly battered brainless Brann and Aalesund are top of the table, though manager Kjetil Rekdal remains distinctly unimpressed..
