Finland, Finland previews, Veikkausliiga

TPS Turku club badgeIFK Mariehamn club badgeTPS – IFK Mariehamn

TPS basically have the edge in this game, but it all depends on how they play. If they build on last week’s win over VPS and produce another confident display, they should be able to win the game, but if they are inefficient and start pushing it, the game will turn out much more difficult, even more so as IFK Mariehamn really know how to play against “better” teams.

TPS are still missing Mika Ääritalo, while the islanders have to cope without suspended Mate Dujilo and injured Peter Blomberg and Dmytro Pronevych. Sasha Anttilainen is doubtful.

Sundays Veikkausliiga previewRoPS club badgeVPS – RoPS

What a game we have on our hands here. Both teams are still without a win, VPS would actually be without a draw if Lahti could have capitalised on their possession against VPS in early May. Our analysts have a rep to protect and usually avoid predicting final scores to avoid embarrassment, but this is the time we make an exception: 0-0.

Pekka Kainu, Jan Ahlvik and Jussi Äijälä are out for VPS. RoPS are missing Nchimunya Mweetwa, White Simwanza and Jarno Tenkula.

Tampere United club badgeKuPS club badgeTampere United – KuPS

TamU surprised Honka last week and are in course for an unremarkable mid-table finish. KuPS went down against Inter on Monday and look every bit the relegation candidates they were expected to be.

KuPS will set themselves out to defend, but TamU are sure-fire favourites nevertheless. KuPS might snap a point if they somehow manage to prevent their opponents from scoring. In all likelihood the KuPS attack will not have the best of days.

TamU go into the game without Toni Järvinen, Tomi Petrescu and Aapo Lappalainen. KuPS are missing Patrice Ollo, Jesse Miettinen and Jussi Kolari.

Home win

FF Jaro club badgeMyPa club badgeFF Jaro – MYPA

Jaro are a good home team and generally prefer a possession-based way of playing, which evens out the advantage MYPA have due to having a slightly better squad. Jaro lost against FC Lahti a week ago, while MYPA have collected two consecutive draws.

Jaro are missing long-time absentee Jani Sarajärvi, Jari Sara and Jani Koivisto, while MYPA have to get along without Jarno Tuunainen and Einari Kurittu.
